Our business plays a key role in delivering the UK's goals for secure, affordable and sustainable energy. We are a not for profit organisation, and we work together as a team to deliver on the Governments 10-point-plan for meeting its new target of reducing UK emissions by 68% by 2030. We are supporting BEIS develop new schemes, such as Industrial Carbon Capture, Use and Storage and excitingly this is why we are expanding our Forecasting Analysis Team, in order to provide the business with forecasts for the future of costs and analyse the risk around those costs.
We are open to talent and seek a Forecasting Analyst who is either a Graduate with a relevant Degree in either Mathematics, Actuarial Science or something similar or alternatively, you could come to us with experience as a Forecasting Analyst or Financial Analyst. Its more about the system knowledge you have and your appreciation for maths, and exposure to modelling; we can train and coach you if required. We would like you to have knowledge on SQL and R creating sequence in Power BI, Python and Java. Knowledge in testing software and understanding modelling under uncertainty and statics would be a bonus. Due to the sector we work in a background in renewable energy and or commodity trading would assist your understanding of how our data works.
We seek someone who prides themselves in delivering complex solutions and problem solves intuitively, carefully working with rigor each time they are presented with data. You will also need to be able to communicate with a wider audience in simple terms, relaying complex information in a way that can be understood by those not in the Forecasting team. The team manager loves to work with someone who is pro-active in modelling improvement suggestions, so ideas will be welcomed enthusiastically.

The package is circa £32-37k per annum experience dependent, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, life assurance and PHI.
