We are working along side a family run export business who are looking for an Customs Import/Export Clerk.
This role will work closely with our Warehouse and Purchasing & Inventory Managers. You will be responsible for managing the import and export of goods and ensuring full end to end compliance. This includes managing all duties and tax schemes related to distribution and manufacturing worldwide.
Ensuring that you execute accurate customs clearance document Develop a trade compliance, management and reporting processes Working with the Senior Management team to assist in planning and managing the weekly work flow requirements so customer's expectations are met & declarations filed according to Customs timescales Maintain thorough and accurate customs paperwork and audit trails - A high level of accuracy and due diligence is VITAL in all import/export processes Manage all day to day operational queries or issues related to Customs compliance Work with external warehousing partners and third-party transport providers to effectively manage the relationship and monitor performance to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficient operating procedures are in place Ensure that all international border crossing shipments comply with the rules and regulations of relevant Customs authorities Be the contact and responsible for compliance audits (both internal and at external) Provide advice to the Finance Director, Warehouse operations staff and other key internal stakeholders Ensure weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to customs are issued Prepare & submit accurate customs declarations for EU or NON-EU customers Verify C88 document details such as the origin and customs codes into CDS Understanding of Customs Commodity Codes Understand and double-check manufacturer & commercial invoicesSkills and Experience:
Knowledge of multiple warehouse stock management Understanding of Customs Commodity Codes Previous expertise in customs warehousing requirements within international FMCG is ESSENTIAL Experience with International freight - Air, Sea and Land - and their regulations/compliance is also ESSENTIAL Up to date knowledge of UK and International Customs Law Experience of internal and external customs audits Fast learnerExcellent IT skills and familiar with all standard office software packages
