Job description
GW Recruitment is working with a leading insurance brokers in London who are seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Underwriter. This is a great opportunity to advance your career and make a difference. The company is London based with the role being carried out remotely, with minimal days in the office.
Key Responsibilities
* Examining insurance proposals
* Collecting background information and assessment of risk
* Calculate possible riska nd assess the relevant premium
* Assess whether the risk should be shared
* Writing new business quotes within set underwriting authority and negotiating the terms with business development managers, brokers and clients
* Preparing insurance policy terms and conditions
* Underwrite and issue renewal terms and mid-term adjustments for existing clients
* Liasing with business development managers, brokers and customers
* Ensure that premiums are competitive ad the accounts remain profitable
Skills Required
* Minimum of 2 years experience working in underwriting in commercial and personal lines insurance
* Diploma CII or exempt through relevant experience as defined by the FCA, or working towards
* Logical and effective analytical skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
* Numeracy and statistical skills
* IT skills
* Confident decision maker
* Attention to detail
* Self-motivated and ambitious
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Abilty to work well in a team and being an ambassador for the company
