This is a brilliant opportunity to be an integral part of the purchasing team and own processes from cradle to grave. You will have experience in vendor management, understanding raw material supply requirements and knowledge of stock control management.
Develops and executes local purchasing strategies in line with Global purchasing guidelines/policies including the tendering of work to a minimum of 3 vendors for all expenditure above the set limit. Develops, tracks and reports key purchasing metrics to reduce cost and improve effectiveness Develops negotiation strategies and close deals with suppliers with optimal terms Liaises with other functions within the business to ensure that the technical specifications of products/services to be procured are clearly defined. Sources and assesses new products/vendors and negotiates competitive prices. Assesses, manages and mitigates purchasing risks to the Grimsby factory and/or the Group. Determines quantity, timing and cost of deliveries. Monitors and forecasts future levels of stock, goods and/or services in liaison with other functions Deputises for Purchasing Manager in ensuring availability of raw materials to specification and in appropriate quantity to achieve planned fibre production. Provides the logistical interface between suppliers and central purchasing such that supplies to the business are scheduled to be delivered when required. Ensures monthly raw material stock checks are carried out. Documents and maintains appropriate HSE procedures for purchased materials and services as well as the receipt of goods/materials to the site Manages the storage of consumables in accordance with ISO9000/14000 Ensures Vendor assessments are conducted to ensure conformity to set standards. Responsible for ensuring that internal and external Health, Safety & Environmental standards are met in terms of both work performance and behaviourProfile
Minimum 2 years purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally industrial or chemical Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. High personal and professional standards. Ability to plan requirements. Ability to negotiate supply terms with Vendors. Capable of understanding raw material supply considerations. Knowledge of the stores order and stock control system. Knowledge of engineering parts and service requirements. Ability to respond to changing situations. SAP experience and good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Job Offer
